What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract is Rotary International’s most significant and fastest-growing service program with more than 8,000 clubs and 189,000 members in over 170 countries and geographical areas. Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
Rotaract Clubs conduct formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, tours of local businesses, cultural activities, discussions, and visits to other clubs. Rotaract events also include service project work, social events, and professional and leadership development workshops.
What are the goals of Rotaract?
To recognize, practice and promote ethical standards, leadership qualities, and vocational responsibilities.
To develop knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems and opportunities in the community and worldwide.
To provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill to all people.
Who are the Rotaract Club of Vancouver Yaletown?
Founded during the summer of 2009, the Rotaract Club of Vancouver Yaletown (RCVY) is the first and only Rotaract club in the downtown Vancouver area. With emphasis on leadership and professional development, RCVY is working towards becoming the premier service organization for young adults in Vancouver.
