District Project

Every year the District helps coordinate a project that all Rotaractors in the district can be involved in. If you have any great ideas for future projects, please email Rotaract District 5040!

Past Projects

Rotaract Project (Friendly) Competition

For 2013, the Rotaract District tasked each of its 7 clubs to host a special project. Each of these projects were presented at the District Conference and judged by the DG and other Rotarians. The winning project/presentation won bragging rights for the year (plus a pizza party!)
Congratulations to the Rotaract Club of New Westminster on winning the 2013 competition with their Ultimate Frisbee Tournament that raised funds for KidSport New West!

Bridging the Gap Mentorship Program

Rotaract District 5040 is thrilled to introduce the Bridging the Gap mentorship program – a new initiative designed to connect motivated youth with university-aged mentors. We recognize the value of supporting students, particularly when the support stems directly from a mentor close in age. Our Rotaract members would be more than happy to share their experiences about the adjustment from high school to university, as well as how they were able to stay involved in their communities. Also, as indicated by the name of this mentorship program, we would like to bridge the gap between Interact and Rotaract, and facilitate a transition between these two meaningful Rotary-sponsored youth programs.

Rotaract’s Big Give

The Rotaract’s Big Give was a collaborative competition between 5 Rotaract clubs in District 5040 where each club launched a project targeting children and youth during World Rotaract Week. A presentation, including a video, about each project was given in front of a panel of Rotarian judges and fellow Rotaractors. The projects were judged on quality, impact, video content, and media exposure.
